An article by AESS about new resources provided by the Encom Hub project to help local authorities and communities turn ideas into action was published on the webpage of the EU Covenant of Mayors.
Scaling energy communities across Europe requires clear, ready-to-use tools that bridge the gap between planning and local action. While more than 8,000 energy communities are already active across the continent, municipalities often struggle to navigate scattered guidelines, legal frameworks, and technical models.
To address this challenge, the LIFE project ENCOM HUB, in collaboration with the Agency for Energy and Sustainable Development (AESS), has published the “Handbook: Tools and Best Practices for the Implementation of Energy Communities”. The guide brings together proven European resources across the entire project lifecycle—from governance and financing to techno-economic simulation tools and participatory platforms—enabling local authorities to replicate successful models without starting from scratch.
