Supporting the Callosa de Segura Electric Cooperative Pilot

Ensuring the viability of local energy communities demands close alignment between rigorous engineering assessments and evolving regulatory landscapes.

Under the framework of the Encom-Hub project, the technical team from the Energy Technological Institute (ITE), joined by Milagros Peña, Jorge De Leandro Tomás, and María Domínguez, convened with the pilot energy community initiated by the Cooperativa Eléctrica de Callosa de Segura. The meeting focused on sharing the outcomes of techno-economic feasibility studies for proposed solar PV installations, alongside energy efficiency audits completed on target community buildings. Furthermore, participants explored recent regulatory updates that expand opportunities for community energy initiatives, strengthening collective renewable self-consumption schemes and enabling broader citizen participation.

This collaborative engagement highlights Encom-Hub’s ongoing commitment to delivering hands-on technical and policy guidance to reinforce cooperative-led transitions across European territories.
