From Centralised Power to Shared Energy: Bologna Hosts the Workshop “L’alba dentro l’imbrunire” on Renewable Energy Communities

Organised in Bologna at Fondazione Barberini with the support of Legacoop Emilia-Romagna and Innovacoop, as part of European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW 2026), the workshop titled “L’alba dentro l’imbrunire. Dal crepuscolo dell’energia centralizzata all’energia condivisa delle comunità energetiche” brought together experts, trade unionists, and cooperative representatives to present the Foundation’s new Quaderno dedicated to Renewable Energy Communities (RECs). The event highlighted the role of RECs as drivers of socio-environmental welfare and tools against energy poverty, turning citizens into active participants in managing and synchronising local consumption. Discussions underlined the importance of building robust networks and second-tier structures capable of delivering shared services, ensuring local energy communities remain self-sustaining and resilient over time.
